The Miles Foundation

A Fort Worth office refresh designed to support a growing team while creating a polished setting for foundation leaders, government officials, investors, and media.

We began with a study of how the existing tenant space could better meet the needs of The Miles Foundation: a series of test fits explored multiple capacities, from the minimum intervention required to support the organization to the maximum number of people the existing footprint could accommodate.

The resulting design focused on refreshing the workplace within its existing architecture. A palette of rich wood, warm leather, olive, brass, and textured upholstery maintains a subtle connection to Fort Worth.

Seating was arranged around conversation, creating an informal gathering space that can shift between daily meetings and larger events.

As an office serving corporate and community partners, the interiors needed to offer flexibility to accommodate a wide range of uses. Furniture and gathering spaces were arranged to support that flexibility while creating a cohesive setting for the Foundation’s public-facing work.

The scope continued through installation to final styling. Managing these pieces as part of a single design process allowed the completed office to reflect the original vision without disrupting the daily pace of the office.

Organic forms were introduced throughout the styling to soften the office's existing glass, brick, and rectilinear architecture.
